Your Wedding: Getting Started

Our diocese requires young couples to begin their preparations nine months to a year before an anticipated wedding date in order to allow time for interviews, the FOCCUS process, lead couple sessions, dispensations and any other preparations needed. Please keep in mind that we will need at least nine months to one year notice.

The first step is to fill out our Marriage Application. You can download this fillable PDF version, fill it out, and email it to Kris Larkey. See Kris’ contact info below.

After you have filled out an application, we will meet with you in order to get to know you better and fill out the official Marriage Registration Form that our diocese requires. For persons under 18, consultation must be made with parents, permission of the Bishop and additional preparation may be necessary. Catholic partners are expected to obtain a recent baptismal certificate issued within the last six months.

Scheduling Your Ceremony: We discourage weddings during Advent and Lent. If you choose to celebrate your wedding during Advent or Lent, the wedding should be kept simple in the spirit of these seasons. Because of our 4pm Saturday evening parish Mass, we schedule weddings on Friday evenings or Saturdays at 1pm or at 6pm. Contact Kris Larkey to discuss scheduling your ceremony.
