Stewardship
“As each has received a gift, employ it for one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace…” 1 Peter 4:10
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops defines a Christian steward as “one who receives God’s gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible and accountable manner, shares them in justice and love with others, and returns them with increase to the Lord” – Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response. In our parish we believe that not only is it important to share our time, talent and treasures, but that each is equally important. This means that generously volunteering your time and sharing your talents is just as important as giving money to someone in need, donating to charity, or putting money in the collection basket each week. We also believe that stewardship is a lifestyle, meaning that sharing our time, talent and treasure is something we do in our family life, work life, at church, at the grocery store, everywhere!
